What an FPS Player Needs to Know About PlanetSide™

PlanetSide will offer unprecedented multiplayer action. With hundreds of players on each server, your battles won't be limited to the confines of one theater. You'll experience combat in a wide variety of weather conditions, geographic locations and day-night cycles.

Three empires will fight for power on the world of Auraxis™. You'll join one of these empires, allying yourself with teammates to form an "outfit." Similar to many FPS clans, your outfit will train together and develop group tactics based on your team members' strengths.

The scope of the combat in PlanetSide will be very wide and multitiered. Ground troops, ground and air vehicles, support personnel and more will each engage the enemy with their own objectives and goals aimed at gaining facilities, thereby spreading your empire's influence and advancing its power over the world. These layers of action, combined with the dynamics of the world itself, will allow for a vast array of tactical situations that will never be predictable.

Success will not be a matter of finding the rocket launcher and the barrel o' health. Advancing your character in levels and certifications will be important in PlanetSide and will enable you to access more and better equipment. In-game, you'll be able to track both your character's and your outfit's advancement.
